Madrid In Motion makes a strong showing at home for GCL Madrid
9 May 2025The host team of the GCL, Madrid In Motion, sponsored by the Spanish firms Massimo Dutti and Marqués de Riscal, has already defined its riders for the next stop of the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT), to be held in Madrid next week. The team will be formed by the Spaniards Eduardo Álvarez Aznar and Manuel Fernández Saro, reinforced by the Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten, a regular at this event, which he has rarely missed.
After an outstanding performance in Shanghai, where the team managed to lead the first round and finished in a meritorious fifth position in the final classification of that venue in China, Madrid In Motion arrives in a great shape and with the motivation to offer the best show in front of its audience.
The Madrid event will be especially emotional for Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, who will take the opportunity to say goodbye to his great battle partner, Rokfeller, a horse that has been a key player in the team's successes, including victories thanks to his multiple rounds without faults and his fundamental role in the 2018 Prague playoffs. The farewell tribute will be held on Sunday, May 18 on the iconic green track at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, where Roki will compete for the last time during that weekend.
