A new season of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM - or World Cup - starts tomorrow in Oslo, the Norway capital. The most famous indoor circuit in Western Europe has this year 14 qualifiers and a final that will take place in Las Vegas, California, next April 15th to 19th, 2020.

Spain will host two venues of this competition, specifically at Ifema Madrid Horse Week from the 29th November to the 1st December, and at the CSI5* W Coruña on December 13th, 14th and 15th, where we will live the excitement of the highest world level competition.

Last year the Swiss rider, Steve Guerdat, was proclaimed the winner, for the third time, of the World Cup final that took place in Gothenburg. Only five riders have won the triplet since the origin of circuit and it is very likely that two of them, Steve Guerdat and Marcus Ehning, will be competing in Madrid this November.

But what is the World Cup?

The Longines FEI Jumping World Cup TM, as it is officially called, is a circuit that was born in 1978 and is organized by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), where the best ranked riders in the world take part.

The circuit is divided into 16 different leagues throughout the world and, in each of those leagues, a series of qualifiers are held. The participant riders will accumalte points depending on their results.

At the end of the last venue of each league, the best rated riders of each 16 leagues, will face off in the grand finale of Las Vegas where we will know the name of the winner of this XLII edition.
