With the pre-event veterinary inspection now complete, CSI Maeza is set to kick off a new edition tomorrow

Sariego (Asturias), July 2, 2026

The veterinary inspection, an essential step before the start of the competition, took place this afternoon. All 192 horses entered for the event successfully underwent the mandatory pre-competition check, during which FEI veterinarians assessed their health and physical condition to determine their fitness to compete, ensuring the highest standards of equine welfare.

With this final pre-event procedure now completed, everything is in place for the competition to get underway tomorrow. A total of 90 riders from 15 countries will compete across the various classes of an event that will bring together some of the finest horse-and-rider combinations on the international show jumping circuit throughout the weekend.

The opening day will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Ascor Trophy (1.25 m), followed by the Artiem Trophy (1.35 m) at 12:45 p.m., before concluding at 5:00 p.m. with the BMW Autosa Trophy (1.45 m), the first class of the weekend to count towards the Longines FEI World Ranking. Once again, the courses have been designed by Javier Trenor, who has created technical and demanding tracks that will test the precision, skill and partnership of the competitors.

CSI Maeza will award a total prize fund of €140,000, reinforcing its position as one of the best-endowed show jumping events on the Spanish competition calendar.

In addition to world-class equestrian sport, spectators will be able to enjoy a full weekend of entertainment, including live music, gastronomy and a commercial village. Charity tickets, priced at €8, are available at www.csimaeza.com or directly at the venue's ticket office.

The competition will be broadcast worldwide on ClipMyHorse.TV, reaching audiences in more than 200 countries. In addition, Televisión del Principado de Asturias (TPA) will provide live coverage of the Maeza Grand Prix—the highlight of the event—on Sunday from 4:45 p.m.
