The Prague Lions take the victory in Madrid, with the host team finishing third in the Marqués de Riscal Trophy

Madrid In Motion came close to victory in the Global Champions League at the LGCT 115 CSI 5* Madrid after a strong performance by Sergio Álvarez Moya and Maikel van der Vleuten on the green arena of the Real Club de Campo Villa de Madrid.

Madrid in Motion once again climbed onto the podium in the Global Champions League at the LGCT 115 CSI5* Madrid after finishing third in the Marqués de Riscal Trophy. The host team came close to victory thanks to the outstanding performances of Maikel van der Vleuten aboard “Quastor vd Heffinck” and Sergio Álvarez Moya with “Quadrado”, as they completed four solid rounds to finish on a total of 6 points.

Victory went to the Prague Lions, who won by just one point, while the Istanbul Warriors took second place with 5 points. With this result, Madrid in Motion once again confirmed its strong performances on the green arena of the Real Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, where the team has now reached the Global Champions League podium on four occasions.

The evening session began with the Mahou Trophy, a 1.60m speed class and qualifier for Sunday’s Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix. German rider Hans-Dieter Dreher claimed victory with “Vestmalle des Cotis” after producing one of only three clear rounds in the competition.

Ireland’s Ciaran Nallon finished second with “Casalla Blue PS”, while Spain’s Iván Serrano secured an impressive third place aboard the veteran “Rain Man”. In addition, Álvaro Márquez Galobardes and Jesús Garmendia qualified for Sunday’s Grand Prix.

The sporting programme of the LGCT 115 CSI Madrid will continue tomorrow, Saturday, starting at 10:15 a.m. with the CSI1* competitions. The day will begin with the 1.15m and 1.25m MARCA Trophies, followed by the 1.40m CaixaBank Trophy and the 1.45m Grupo Eulen Trophy. The programme will conclude with the 1.50m King’s Cup Caser Helvetia.

Luis Márquez Méndez claims victory in the Fundación Madrid Horse Week Trophy.

The highlight victory of the morning came in the Fundación Madrid Horse Week Trophy (1.40m), where Madrid rider Luis Márquez Méndez delivered a brilliant performance aboard “Rotterdam Buzalen”. With a faultless round and a time of 62.34 seconds, the Spanish rider comfortably dominated the class.

José Díaz Vecino, riding “Crystal Clear 7”, finished second, while Paloma Barceló, aboard “Rambo C”, completed the podium.
