Top world ranking and Olympic medalists present at the Longines Global Champions Tour Madrid
28 Apr 2025The Longines Global Champions Tour CSI5* 114 arrives with a clear promise: a top-level equestrian show. The competition will be attended by the three riders who finished on the podium in the last edition: the German Christian Kukuk, the Dutch Maikel van der Vleuten and the Belgian Gilles Thomas. Kukuk and Van der Vleuten were also protagonists at the last Olympic Games, where they won gold and bronze, respectively.
The equestrian show jumping elite does not stop there. The top two in the world ranking will also compete in the green arena of the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid: Sweden's Henrik von Eckermann (No. 1) and USA's Kent Farrington (No. 2), two names that guarantee excitement and technique at the highest level.
Other luxury confirmed riders are the French Julien Epaillard, recent champion of the World Cup final in Basel, and Simon Delestre, champion for the third time of the Saut Hermés 2025, who arrive in Madrid in a great moment of form.
They will be joined by the winners of the first two venues of the Longines Global Champions Tour 2025: Abdel Said, winner in Doha, and Emanuele Camilli, who won the Mexico stop.
National talent will also be represented in this 5* category. Three Spanish riders will compete with Global Champions League teams: Eduardo Álvarez Aznar and Manuel Fernández Saro will compete with the host team, Madrid in Motion, while Mariano Martínez Bastida will defend the colors of St Tropez Pirates.
Everything indicates that Madrid will live an unforgettable edition of the LGCT, with a luxury line-up and a competitive level difficult to match.
