Lisbon Gallops Again: The CSIO Returns in May 2026

Oxer Sport strengthens its international presence with the creation of a new headquarters in Portugal, consolidating its growth and commitment to the development of equestrian sports in the region.
Among Oxer Sport Portugal’s main projects is the organization of the Lisbon CSIO, a historic event that, after several years of absence, will return to the international calendar in May 2026 under the main sponsorship of Al Shira’aa.

By bringing the Nations Cup back to Lisbon, we are giving new life to one of Europe’s great equestrian traditions and creating opportunities for riders and fans to share the beauty of this sport," said Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, founder of Al Shira’aa.
The Portuguese Equestrian Federation has entrusted Oxer Sport with the management of the event for the next five years, from 2026 to 2030, ensuring the continuity and growth of this iconic Nations Cup. The sporting plan includes a progressive development of the competition: it will start as a CSIO3* in 2026 and 2027, advance to CSIO4* in 2028 and 2029, and reach the top CSIO5* category in 2030.
The Al Shira’aa CSIO Lisbon will once again be held at its traditional venue, the magnificent facilities of the Sociedade Hípica Portuguesa, which will undergo extensive renovations throughout this year to provide fully updated facilities ready to welcome riders from various nations next May.
