Galician Talent Takes Center Stage at the CSI4 and CSI1 Casas Novas

A Coruña, 7 July 2026 –

The countdown to the CSI Casas Novas has begun. From 10 to 12 July, the venue in A Coruña will once again welcome some of the best riders on the national and international show jumping circuit, while also shining a spotlight on Galicia's homegrown talent.

In the CSI4*, Javier González Fraga will be the only Galician rider competing in the event's top category. One of the leading figures in Galician equestrian sport, the A Coruña-based rider arrives at Casas Novas in outstanding form. After delivering an impressive performance in last year's CSI3* Grand Prix, where he finished as the highest-placed Spanish rider, he heads into this year's competition on the back of a strong third-place finish in the 1.50m Grand Prix at the CSI Maeza, held this past weekend.

Local talent will also feature prominently in the CSI1*, with several promising young Galician riders continuing to make their mark on the national stage. Among them are siblings Roi and Ainhoa Calviño, both regular competitors at Casas Novas, as well as Elena Vázquez Arrojo, who, at just 15 years old, has already achieved notable sporting success. They will be joined by their coach, Jesús Baamonde, one of Galicia's most established riders and a key mentor for the next generation. Completing the local line-up are Lucía Moreira, Sofía Pardo, and Yago García Collar, all of whom will have the opportunity to compete in front of their home crowd at one of the country's premier equestrian events.

Free tickets for the event are now available through the official CSI Casas Novas website (www.csicasasnovas.com) and can be reserved until capacity is reached.

Throughout the weekend, spectators will enjoy not only world-class show jumping but also a wide range of food, entertainment, and activities for all ages.
