SUCCESS AT THE OPENING DAY OF THE LNS RFHE CIUDAD DE VALLADOLID
29 May 2026The National Show Jumping League of the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation (LNS RFHE) held its second event of the season this weekend at the facilities of the Real Sociedad Hípica de Valladolid. The opening day brought together a large number of horse-and-rider combinations in an intense sporting program that progressed through increasing heights, from the 1.10 m classes to the day’s main event, the 1.45 m Tressis Trophy.
Helios Trophy
The competition got underway at 9:00 a.m. with the 1.10 m Helios Trophy. Victory went to local rider Lara del Cura Alonso, who claimed first place aboard “Lolli Pop” in a class featuring five participants.
Gadis Trophy
Participation increased considerably in the 1.20 m Gadis Trophy, held under the Two-Phase Special format. A total of 61 riders took part in a class dominated by Jesús Arrieta Quiroga from San Sebastián, who achieved a brilliant one-two finish. Victory came with “Gaudi VD Molendreef Z” after a flawless second phase completed in 36.79 seconds, while second place went to his other horse, “Floriane de Crepi”. Galicia’s Antonio Honrubia completed the podium aboard “Dunsua”.
Horse1 Trophy
At 12:30 p.m., the Horse1 Trophy took place over 1.30 m obstacles, also under the Two-Phase Special format. The win went to Basque rider Nora García Urtasun together with “Glorya Zimequest”. Cantabrian rider Saúl Gutiérrez finished second aboard “Casallcari PS”, while Endika Fuica took third place with “Tacata”.
JJ Maquinaria Trophy
The 1.35 m JJ Maquinaria Trophy was the busiest class of the day, recording a total of 87 starts.
Victory went to Catalan rider Alfons Roquet riding “Carabinieri”, after completing his round in 60.01 seconds. Second place went to Álvaro González de Zárate aboard “High Andy Star K Z”, while third place was claimed by his brother Kevin González de Zárate riding “MAC”.
Tressis Trophy
The highlight class of the day, the 1.45 m Tressis Trophy, brought the opening day to a close with 39 horse-and-rider combinations competing.
Once again, Alfons Roquet topped the standings, securing his second victory of the day, this time aboard “Sandro Eclipse”. Second place went to Kevin González de Zárate with “Arezzo de Llamosas”, while third place was taken by Álvaro González de Zárate riding “Cornet Crimoso”.
With strong participation and an excellent sporting level across all classes, the LNS RFHE Ciudad de Valladolid successfully launched a new edition that will continue throughout the weekend, offering excitement and top-level sport in the Valladolid arena.
