Second Day at the Longines Global Champions Tour Mexico, presented by GNP Mexico Jumping

On Friday, April 17, 2026, the second day of CSI 5* competition of the Longines Global Champions Tour, presented by GNP Mexico Jumping, took place. The iconic Campo Marte hosted a thrilling day, where the Mexican crowd enjoyed the very best of international show jumping.

Throughout the day, four top-level classes were held, with victories shared among riders from Belgium, Brazil, Italy, and the United States, as well as a standout Mexican female rider.

St. Tropez Pirates claim the GCL Mexico GNP Seguros Trophy

The day concluded with the GNP Seguros Trophy, the second team round of the Global Champions League, featuring the 10 best teams qualified from the first round.

The St. Tropez Pirates claimed victory after an outstanding performance. Their riders, Italian Piergiorgio Bucci aboard Pallieter vd N. Ranch and American Kaitlin Campbell riding Karius, were the only pair to complete their rounds with great consistency, securing the best overall score with just four accumulated penalties.

Second place went to the Istanbul Warriors, while the Basel Cosmopolitans completed the podium.

Gilles Thomas shines in the COX Trophy

The COX Trophy, the day’s biggest class with fences up to 1.60 meters, brought together 34 horse-and-rider combinations in a demanding CSI 5* speed competition.

Victory went to young Belgian rider Gilles Thomas, who aboard Qalista DN delivered a flawless round in 75.54 seconds. Close behind was French rider Simon Delestre with Golden Boy DK, stopping the clock at 75.72 seconds without penalties. Third place went to Dutch rider Jur Vrieling with Cornet Blue PS.

Eduardo Menezes repeats victory in the Banorte Trophy

Brazilian rider Eduardo Menezes once again stood out by winning the Banorte Trophy, the first CSI 5* class of the day, which featured 23 riders.

Riding H5 LondonTime, Menezes finished ahead of Mexican rider Eugenio Garza, who placed second with Contago. Third place went to Canadian rider Erynn Ballard aboard De Flor 111 Z Santa Rosa.
