Presentation of the CSN5* Valladolid, Second Venue of the RFHE National Show Jumping League 2026
27 May 2026Valladolid, May 27
Today, Wednesday the 27th, the presentation of the National 5* Show Jumping Competition “Memorial Gonzalo Cebrián Ruiz” took place at the Valladolid Tourist Office. The event will begin next weekend at the Real Sociedad Hípica de Valladolid, serving as the second venue of the National Show Jumping League organized by the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation, following the opening event held in Valencia.
For the third consecutive year, and following the success of previous editions, Valladolid once again forms part of the most important national competition of the season. The country’s top riders will gather at the facilities of the Real Sociedad Hípica de Valladolid on May 29th, 30th, and 31st.
This will undoubtedly be a special edition, as a well-deserved tribute will be paid during the competition to Gonzalo Cebrián Ruiz, President of the RSHV until his recent passing, who strongly supported bringing this important competition to his city.
This year, a new participation record has once again been achieved. Over the three days of competition, more than 140 riders and 260 horses will tackle the courses designed by internationally renowned course designer Eduardo Álvarez Estrada. A total of 13 Autonomous Communities will be represented in the event.
Among the participants are some of the highest-ranked riders in the national standings, such as Álvaro González de Zárate (No. 2), Jesús Garmendia (No. 5), and Iván Serrano (No. 9 in the ranking and winner of last year’s Grand Prix). The event will also feature outstanding female riders such as British rider Remy Ellis, Lucía Fernández Hidalgo, Otti Verdú, and Olivia Álvarez. Local riders will also compete for top positions, including Inés Hernández Yanguas, Manuel Pérez Morillo, and María González Herrero.
The competition will take place over three days, with five classes scheduled each day. Highlights include the Friday “Tressis” Big Class, the Saturday “Junta de Castilla y León Trophy” Grand Prix, the Silver League Grand Prix “Verisure Trophy” with a height of 1.40m, and the main event of the weekend, the Gold League Grand Prix: “City Council of Valladolid Grand Prix – Caja Rural de Zamora Trophy,” which will take place on Sunday.
There will also be an additional prize sponsored by Caja Rural de Zamora for the best-ranked children’s/junior rider in the Silver League Grand Prix.
We would like to thank both the institutions and private sponsors for their support. This includes the sponsors of the National League (Verisure, Fundación Madrid Horse Week, Volvo, and Horse 1), and especially those supporting the Valladolid venue: Valladolid City Council, Junta de Castilla y León, Castilla y León Equestrian Federation, Caja Rural de Zamora, Tressis, Estrella Galicia, Gadis, Helios, Geolastic, Grupo Casas Arias, Peca, Extealde, and JJ Maquinaria.
