MUTUA MADRID HORSE WEEK TICKETS WILL GO ON SALE NEXT THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1

Madrid, September 28, 2026. This morning, Madrid’s Plaza de Oriente hosted the official presentation of MUTUA MADRID HORSE WEEK (MMHW), the most important annual equestrian event held in Spain. The next edition will take place from November 26 to 29 in Halls 12 and 14 of IFEMA. The event, held in front of the Prince’s Gate of the Royal Palace of Madrid, was attended by Almudena Maíllo, Madrid City Council’s Councillor for Tourism; Luis Martín Izquierdo, Deputy Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Community of Madrid; Ignacio Garralda, Chairman of Mutua Madrileña; Javier Revuelta, President of the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation (RFHE); and Daniel Entrecanales, President of the MMHW Organising Committee.

In this 2026 edition, MMHW will host the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™, the FEI Dressage World Cup™, and, for the first time since the 2015 edition, the FEI Driving World Cup™, further strengthening the event’s multidisciplinary and unique character on the international equestrian scene.

After thanking sponsors and institutions for their support, Daniel Entrecanales, President of the MMHW Organising Committee, said: “It is not easy to have the World Cup in three disciplines simultaneously. It is the result and product of the efforts of the teams that have been working on this project from the beginning, as well as the exhibitors, sponsors and the public, whom we hope will support us once again in this 2026 edition.” Entrecanales also highlighted the family-friendly and accessible nature of the event, which this year expects to exceed the 45,000 visitors recorded in the previous edition.

With this number of visitors—70% of whom are families and groups of friends—more than 170 riders from 20 countries, nearly 300 horses and over 40,000 square metres dedicated to the equestrian world, recent editions of Madrid Horse Week have established the event as one of Madrid’s most important sporting and leisure occasions and as an international reference for horse enthusiasts and professionals. First held in 2012, the event returns in 2026 under the name Mutua Madrid Horse Week, thanks to the support of Mutua Madrileña as its main sponsor, with total prize money amounting to €550,000.

Ignacio Garralda, Chairman of Mutua Madrileña, explained his company’s interest in associating itself “with a sport that is undoubtedly always associated with excellence and commitment. At our company, with 95 years of history, we are truly indebted to the people of Madrid, and we want to replicate in other sports what we have achieved with the Mutua Madrid Open Tennis tournament, a highly prominent event on the international calendar.”

For Javier Revuelta, President of the RFHE, the main attraction of MMHW 2026 will be its outstanding sporting programme: “Mutua Madrid Horse Week is the leading equestrian event held in Spain, because of the combination of disciplines it encompasses and, fundamentally, because of the calibre of the riders and drivers who will be competing in Madrid during those days. The staging of sporting events such as this one, where the world’s leading riders will compete alongside Spain’s top riders, is important so that the Federation’s coaches and selectors can begin drawing conclusions ahead of next year’s European Championships.”

“This sport is important in Madrid, with more than 3,600 registered athletes, representing 25% of the national total, and we also have 80 clubs in the Community of Madrid,” said Luis Martín Izquierdo, Deputy Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Community of Madrid, during the presentation. “We have to support the organisers, but we must also thank the many companies whose collaboration makes these kinds of top-level events possible. Here at the Community of Madrid, we organise, promote and support around 400 sporting events every year, which is very important in making Madrid a global centre for sport.”

Finally, Almudena Maíllo, Madrid City Council’s Councillor for Tourism, also emphasised the importance of the event’s return because of its sporting, social and economic impact: “Madrid has been looking forward to it, and Madrid loves Madrid Horse Week, so the celebration of this new edition is wonderful news. At Madrid City Council, we are committed to ensuring that the city not only hosts occasional events, but that its calendar is full throughout the year. Madrid has a passion for sport, but we must also take into account the economic impact it generates: Formula 1, Bad Bunny, the visit of the Holy Father, Shakira’s residence, and the return of MMHW, the Tennis Open and golf together represent more than €2.6 billion for the city of Madrid,” she concluded.

In addition to the three elite competitions and its traditional 1 International Show Jumping Competition*, aimed at amateurs and young show-jumping prospects, MMHW 2026 will also feature the Horse Fair, rounding off this comprehensive, multidisciplinary entertainment programme centred around the equestrian world. It will include dozens of stands specialising in equestrian products, technical equipment, equestrian fashion, accessories, feed and horse-related services, as well as lifestyle and food offerings and activities for the whole family.

Visitors to the Horse Fair will have access to a continuous programme of equestrian exhibitions and shows at the Non-Stop Arena, featuring activities such as vaulting, children’s doma vaquera (Spanish working equitation), working equitation, Western riding, natural horsemanship and dog agility, among others. They will also be able to visit a comprehensive exhibition of Iberian horse breeds, which will fill the Horse Fair with beautiful specimens from different Spanish breeding farms. In addition, this year’s edition will feature an extraordinary Christmas Market.
