The second day of the CSN5* Valladolid – Gonzalo Cebrián Ruiz Memorial once again brought together a large number of riders at the facilities of the Royal Equestrian Society of Valladolid. From early morning, the competition steadily intensified, culminating in the highest-level classes of the day and providing an outstanding sporting spectacle for the spectators in attendance.
Geolastic Trophy
The action got underway at 8:30 a.m. with the Geolastic Trophy, a 1.10-meter class. Valladolid rider Rodrigo Blanco Hernández was the first winner of the day, claiming victory aboard Fábula T in a class featuring seven competitors.
Etxealde Trophy
The Etxealde Trophy, a 1.20-meter Two-Phase Special class, followed and attracted a total of 60 horse-and-rider combinations.
Asturian rider Gerardo Menéndez delivered the best performance aboard Letaway de Sorribas, securing victory ahead of Madrid’s Juan Queipo, who finished second with Tanaka. Local rider Carmen Gordaliza completed the podium with Erostar des Luthiers.
Estrella Galicia Trophy
Participation reached its peak in the Estrella Galicia Trophy, a 1.40-meter class and the largest competition of the day, with a total of 63 starts.
Kevin González de Zárate topped the standings riding MAC, while Valladolid rider Inés Hernández Yanguas aboard Edene du Bidou and Basque rider Iñigo González Oraindi aboard Osaka F finished in second and third place respectively.
Volvo Trophy
The excitement continued to build with the Volvo Trophy, a 1.45-meter class and one of the highlights of the programme. With 39 combinations competing, the sporting standard once again proved exceptional.
Kevin González de Zárate added another victory to his tally, this time riding Jay ZZ. Madrid rider Luis Mateos, aboard Chamant de Biolley, finished second, while Inés Hernández Yanguas returned to the podium thanks to her clear round with Nemo de Porceyo.
Castile and León Regional Government Trophy
The day concluded with the Castile and León Regional Government Trophy, a 1.30-meter jump-off class that kept the suspense alive until the very end.
Twelve combinations qualified for the decisive jump-off after completing the first round without penalties. However, only three managed to remain faultless in the second round. Among them, Valladolid rider Xabier Cabezas aboard Aisca del Maset posted the fastest time to secure victory ahead of Manuel Pérez Morillo and Uleandro VD Slypshoek. Madrid rider Olivia Álvarez completed the podium with Conthendra PS.
