High participation and excitement at the start of the 26th Casas Novas Trophy

A Coruña, February 22, 2026

The first leg of the Casas Novas Trophy was held this weekend at the Centro Hípico Casas Novas, bringing together more than 200 horse-and-rider combinations.

The competition included both pony and horse classes, all held in the venue’s indoor arena, offering an intense program of events over the two days.

Following this opening phase, the provisional standings of the trophy are led by Valentina Méndez with Black Widow (Ponies A), María González Blanco with Utika (Ponies B), Valeria Iglesias with Bambou D’Aspe (Ponies C), and Adriana Reixa Cendame with Pedrito (Ponies D).

In the open classes, the winners of the weekend’s main competitions were:

Saturday and Sunday
1.10 m — Belén Rodríguez Suárez with Beauty Breaker de Lys
1.20 m — Joaquín Poves Gil with Ivet Lalova

The next leg will take place in March, over the weekend of the 21st–22nd, once again at Casas Novas in A Coruña.
