MAEZA UNVEILS THE ARTWORK FEATURED ON THE POSTER FOR THE 6TH EDITION OF ITS INTERNATIONAL SHOW JUMPING COMPETITION
28 Apr 2026The artwork for this year's edition is signed by artist Faustino Ruiz.
Sariego, April 28, 2026 – Yeguada Finca Maeza hosted this morning the official unveiling of the poster for the 2026 Concurso de Saltos Internacional de Maeza, whose sixth edition will take place from July 3 to 5.
A large number of media representatives, authorities, sponsors, and friends of the competition joined the Bares Maestre family, hosts of the event, for a gathering that served to reveal the official image for this new edition.
The artwork featured on the poster was created by artist Faustino Ruiz, while the final design was produced by Toño Velasco, who adapted the painting to the official format by incorporating the event’s visual identity and dates.
During the presentation, Cruz Maestre, director of CSI Maeza, highlighted the emotional significance of the piece selected this year:
“This artwork is very special, and today it is even more so, because the horse depicted in it is one of our own, from our stud farm: Júpiter, a seven-year-old stallion, who today has become the father of a promising foal named Quequén. Without a doubt, we will always remember this poster and today’s presentation in a very special way.”
For his part, Toño Velasco, creator of the 2024 edition’s poster and collaborator on this year’s design, introduced Faustino Ruiz and praised his colleague’s talent, emphasizing the admiration he feels for his artistic career and body of work.
Faustino Ruiz also shared his satisfaction at being part of this year’s event:
“I am very grateful to the artistic team, and especially to Cruz, for trusting me. It is a true honor to be part of this project.”
Meanwhile, Álvaro Arrieta, president of Oxer Sport — the company organizing the event — outlined some of the sporting and logistical developments planned for 2026:
“The competition will continue the upward trajectory of recent years. The veterinary inspection will take place on Thursday; three classes will be held on Friday; another three on Saturday, with a jump-off in the final class; and the event will conclude on Sunday with three more classes and the final Grand Prix. We have high expectations for the level of riders competing. The project continues to grow stronger, and athletes leave these facilities extremely satisfied, which encourages them to return. In addition, the stud farm has made significant improvements to the stabling area and truck access.”
Cruz Maestre closed the event by thanking the renewed support of the competition’s main sponsors: CaixaBank, Grupo Eulen, Oquendo, Artiem, BMW Autosa, Air Europa, Ascor, ClipMyHorse.TV, Onda Cero, TPA, and the Comarca de la Sidra.
The morning concluded with coffee provided by Oquendo and refreshments for attendees, who were able to enjoy the unique surroundings of Yeguada Finca Maeza — a preview of what will once again become one of the highlights of the summer on the international equestrian calendar.
