The young Galician rider makes his debut in the Young Rider category, confirming his high level.
The main arena of the Dehesa Montenmedio was the setting for a beautiful final day of the Spanish Championships. On a sunny and windy morning, the best young riders competed on a demanding course designed by Javier Trenor. The course, made up of 14 efforts, generated a lot of excitement and some unexpected overthrows. The pressure was the determining factor today in Vejer de la Frontera.
None of the chasing pairings managed to finish without fault and that widened the advantage of the first 3 classified. The podium of the Championship was quite clear and the only thing left to do was to share the boxes between the 3 most regular teams. The first to take to the track was Natalia Ramirez who flew with her magnificent "Macao" and completed with outstanding a Championship in which the Basque has gone from less to more. The zero points of the Basque put pressure on the other two aspirants.
It was the turn of Diego Ramos Maneiro. The Galician and "Texas de Trebompe" once again demonstrated their performance under pressure. The course of the young man from A Coruña was an exhibition of experience and serenity, not without emotion in the vertical planks of the final lane. The time penalty point guaranteed Diego the silver medal and put all the pressure on the last rider to compete.
Young Alex Codina entered the arena with a face of concentration. Alex and "My Passion VD Donkhoeve" did a good test, but two knockdowns gave the Catalan a well-deserved bronze medal. Manuel Fernández Saro's student has completed a great Spanish Championship which confirms his interesting progression.
In the end, the most solid and experienced pair won in Montenmedio. Diego Ramos deserved his triumph, extending his record (two times gold at the Spanish Junior Championships* and gold at the European Junior Team Championships) in his first year in the Young Rider category. Exciting and beautiful final day with a lot of public in the stands of the Sunshine Tour.
