Fantastic Madrid in Motion straight to the final of the GCL Super Cup

An emotional semifinal of the GCL Super Cup in this second edition of the Prague Playoffs.

At 8pm today, a key test for this great event began, which was the last option to qualify for the grand final that will be held on Sunday. Only the 6 best teams can secure a place in the finals and tonight, the results were all very close and even until the very last competing rider.

With 6 teams tied at 8 points, the Paris Panthers with 4 points, and not one team had accumulated fouls, time was the decisive and Madrid in Motion clearly succeeded with one of the best and quickest times.

First Eric Van der Vleuten and then his son Maikel, who entered the circuit with their horses Wunschkind and Dana Blue, achieving a good run, however they unfortunately both knocked one oxer down and clearly were disappointed. Finally, the turn was for Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, knowing that if he made a single mistake, their journey in Prague would end right then and there. Temperance, know-how and a horse with experience to spare has resulted in a brilliant run without any fault, an all clear round, and with a fantastic timing. 196,70 seconds equated of the three riders, placing them as one of the best times of the 12 participating teams.

In regards to the sport, the two teams who were leaders in the GCL ranking during the 2019 season, and that started as favorites did not have a joyous day to remember. The London Knights, first in the ranking, did not achieve a place and scored in the eighth place; the St. Tropez Pirates of Edwina Tops Alexander and Dani G Waldman, finished in the last place with 24 points and the third rider did not present himself.

Those classified for the final of the GCL Super Cup and who aspire to win more than 4.000.000€ are: the Paris Panthers, Madrid in Motion, Valkenswaard United, Shanghai Swans, Monaco Aces and finally the Cannes Star.

The first round will start on Sunday at 3:30 pm and can be watched directly from the webpage www.gcglobalchampions.com.

However tomorrow is also an important day. Celebrating the LGCT Super Grand Prix, Maikel Van der Vleuten, member of the team sponsored by Massimo Dutti and Marqués de Riscal, will be one of the 16 show jumpers fighting to reach and stand proudly on the podium.
