Record attendance at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Madrid

More than 22,000 people attended the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid to enjoy a weekend with the elite of the world equestrian

After 109 editions held and 7 being part of the prestigious Longines Global Champions League, this year the International Jumping Championship of Madrid has broken all the schemes, far surpassing the number of public from other editions. More than 22,000 people have visited the facilities over the weekend to enjoy a competition in which 216 horses and 134 riders have taken part in the 15 classes.

The three most important moments took place on Saturday and Sunday. The Global Champions League team competition in which the local team, Madrid in Motion, sponsored by Massimo Dutti and Marqués de Riscal, achieved a deserved third place or the Longines Grand Prix of Madrid, the most important class of the weekend, that won the Swiss Martin Fuchs.

The King’s Cup Volvo Trophy put the finishing touch to the event with the Dutch victory of Frank Schuttert. Curiously, on this occasion, Sunday was for the first time in history, the day with the most audience.

A very positive balance of a days full of competition at the highest level.

Next year we will enjoy again with an event that will reach 110 years of life.
