Luis Márquez Méndez made his debut on the podium this morning at the start of the CSI2* Santander. Luis won the Canalsa Trophy, dedicated to the memory of José Manuel Riancho, after beating Kevin González de Zárate from Alava, leader so far in the 1.30m competition, which was held under the two-phase. Together with Viace Houston DH Z, an 11 year old horse that has previously passed through the stables of Carmen Jiménez Cordón and Julio Arias, Luis has inaugurated this edition confirming his good sporting moment.

Luis was accompanied on the podium by Kevin González de Zárate from Alava and the Frenchman Alexandre Boudarel, an old acquaintance of this CSI Santander, riding "Carlo SAM".

Only 8 riders finished the two phases without committing any fault in the traditional green arena which this year is in magnificent conditions.

With this trophy started the twenty-first edition of the event, which will fill this weekend with excitement. As for today's program, it will be followed, from 4pm, by the Ayuntamiento de Santander Trophy, this time with obstacles at 1.20 meters. Then it will be the turn of the Suzuki Trophy, at 6.15 p.m. with a time trial and 1.40m high obstacles, in which 23 riders will take part.

An event that, one more summer, will once again fill the Cantabrian facilities with a fabulous entertainment offer for the whole family. There will be no lack of bets and the ponies will be back, this time, thanks to Caixabank, for the enjoyment of the little ones.
