A new day of competition started today at 12.15 pm with the Palibex Trophy, a 1.30m test disputed under an A time trial.
The rider from Madrid, Luis Marquez, once again took the victory with Viace Houston DH for the second day in a row with a clean ride and an unbeatable score of 62'91 seconds, more than 3 seconds ahead of the next classified rider.
The second place went home thanks to the good work of the Cantabrian Laura Diez Collado and her horse Veroney de Walyro, a horse that the crowd always enjoys to see jumping.
It was not an easy class. 26 riders competed in this Palibex trophy and only 8 finished without accumulating faults. Of them, the third fastest was the winner of yesterday's Suzuki Trophy, the Frenchman Olivier Camy Sarthy, this time with Empire de Soule, a young 7 year old horse.
The clear skies encouraged the public of Santander to visit the stands of the competition where there was a great atmosphere throughout the morning. This afternoon the competition resumes with the 1.20m test, Caser Seguros Trophy, which will start at 3.45 pm. Then, and to conclude the day, the Government of Cantabria Trophy, will put the most experienced horses to jump in a test with jumps at 1.40m.
During this Saturday morning and in anticipation of the weather conditions for tomorrow Sunday, the organizing committee has decided to bring forward the Caixabank Grand Prix scheduled for tomorrow at 18:00h to 12:00h. Bets will be open.
AN UNFORGETTABLE FAMILY WEEKEND
An event that, for yet another summer, will once again fill the Cantabrian facilities with a fabulous entertainment offer for the whole family. There will be no lack of bets and ponies return, this time, from the hand of Caixabank for the enjoyment of the little ones.
