Tomorrow at 12.30pm a new edition of the CSI2* Santander will start, a special event that sets the starting point for the summer competition season for national riders.
Located in an unique location such the Magdalena Palace, next to the Sardinero beach, the event will host, over the weekend, more than 60 riders of five different nationalities and around 100 horses, among which are the best of the national ranking.
During the day today, the Magdalena field will receive the dozens of trucks that have driven the roads for hours, to settle, finally, in the impressive facilities that the organizing company, Oxer Sport, has built in recent days. In the afternoon will take place the mandatory vet check to ensure that all equines are in perfect physical condition before the competition.
Success of Cantabrian participants, more than 10 riders and local amazons will be part of the starting list of this exclusive international competition. Especially noteworthy is the participation of Iván Serrano, who is currently placed in the best position in the national ranking among all those registered in this edition, and is a key candidate to lead the most important class, the Caixabank Grand Prix, which will take place on Sunday afternoon.
Important also the presence of riders such as young Pablo Valle and Olivia Álvarez, members of the national jumps team, or the rider of the Álvarez Moya Stables, Ismael Garcia Roque. Also, the two-time champion of Spain, Jesús Garmendia or the current champion of Asturias, Fidel Dávila. Among the foreign presence, the New Zealand rider Samantha Mcintosh, Olympic rider, or the British Louise Alston.
In addition to the competition, all the visitors coming to the event - free entry - will have at their disposal the Sea Food Market, a place of leisure with foodtrucks, a variety of commercial stands and a children's area for the little ones of the house to have a great time riding a pony and participating in the different workshops that are organized throughout the the weekend.
