At 17.45h the rider from Aviles opened the last class disputed on this second day of competition, the Caixabank Trophy with a height of 1.40m. Like a cyclone Sergio approached the course designed by Javier Trenor, placing himself in an advantageous position against the rest of the 50 participants still waiting to compete. Zero points on the scoreboard and an astonishing time of 58.76 seconds.
Leonardo Medal, winner of the Gran Premio Maeza last Sunday, and one of the fastest riders of the event, finished shortly after in 62.36 after fighting hard. The results speak for themselves, Alvarez Moya's time was not going to be easy to improve. And so it has been, one by one all the riders have been leaving the track with intentions and only Jesus Garmendia managed to beat him, 58.32 seconds, at the cost of failing in the course.
The rider from Luxembourg, yesterday's winner of the Ascor Trophy, Victor Bettendorf was the only one able to get close to Álvarez Moya's time without making mistakes in the course, occupying the second place in the classification. After them, the best classified pair was Leonardo Medal and his Rey de Gozón, who with this third place already have three podiums in this first edition of the International Yeguada Finca Maeza.
The good weather has encouraged the public to visit the facilities of Yeguada Finca Maeza to say goodbye to the penultimate day of competition.
Tomorrow afternoon, the main event of the competition, the Gran Prix Maeza, will be held, in which the 50 best participating riders will battle for the winning title.
All the races can be followed live and/or on demand on the official event channel ClipMyHorse.tv.
