French rider Nicolas Sers opens the CSIO Barcelona winners’ roll

British rider Jessica Mendoza, with In the Air, and American rider Oliver Singleton, riding Oscar Drum 111 Z, complete the winners’ line-up in the first competitions of the day.
The Grand Prix of the City of Barcelona – Calvet 75th Anniversary Trophy, one of the highlights of CSIO Barcelona, will headline Friday’s programme starting at 8 p.m.
Barcelona, October 1, 2026.- Nicolas Sers has been the first winner of CSIO Barcelona. The French rider, riding Komet des K Z, has won the RCPB Opening Trophy, a special two-phase competition that opened the event in the Olympic arena of the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona. With a time of 29.30 seconds and no penalties, Nicolas Sers was the fastest, ahead of Asturian rider Julio Arias Cueva, the best-placed Spanish rider in the competition, with Sienna de Brandegem. Brazilian rider Pedro Veniss, riding Gershwin Dromelle, finished third.
Jessica Mendoza wins the Estrella Damm Trophy
The Estrella Damm Trophy, with the victory of Jessica Mendoza (In the Air), was the second competition of the day at CSIO Barcelona. In a Table A competition against the clock, the British rider recorded a time of 74.24 seconds, beating Brazilian rider Joao Víctor Castro Aguiar Gomes de Lima, with Sagan Z, by 80 hundredths of a second. American rider Laura Kraut, riding Carquilara PS, finished in third position. The best Spanish representative was local rider Alex Codina (Espoir de la Chesnee), who finished in tenth place.
The Fuze Tea Trophy, for Oliver Singleton
Oliver Singleton was the third winner of the day, claiming the Fuze Tea Trophy, a special two-phase competition. Riding Oscar Drum 111 Z, the American rider was the fastest to complete the course without penalties. Brazilian rider Giulia Dal Canton Sciampini, with Jolie Girl du Breil, finished in second place, while Catalan rider Marc Boncompte, the best-placed Spanish rider, was third with Keeper de Champion.
The first day of CSIO Barcelona concluded with the Brilianto Cup.
Tomorrow, Friday, one of the highlights of the event will take place, the Grand Prix of the City of Barcelona – Calvet 75th Anniversary Trophy at 8 p.m., coinciding with the traditional Gala Dinner in the grandstand of the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona.
