THE NUMBER 1 RANKING RIDER WILL PARTICIPATE IN VALENCIA

It has been confirmed that the number one international ranking rider, along with the champion of the GCT 2009 and the European Champion, among others, will participate in the Grand Prix of Spain – Trophy Banc Sabadell.
The Grand Prix of Spain – Trophy Banc Sabadell will be held during the GCT 2010 from the 7th-9th of May in the City of Arts and Sciences. This will be the first opportunity of the year to add ranking points in this prestigious international equestrian event.
The equestrian “Formula 1” arrives to Valencia along with the best riders at the moment and a complete daily program. There will be five trials a day, three of which belong to the International Jumping CSI 2** and two belonging to CSI5*. The Grand Prix of Spain – Trophy Banc Sabadell will be held Saturday afternoon.
The organizers of the event have confirmed the participation of the current number one of the FEI (Federación Ecuestre Internacional) ranking, Pius Schwizer from Switzerland, who has been ein the lead since the beginning of the year. Defender of the Global Champions Tour title, the Frenchman Michel Robert, will be on hand in Valencia to compete for the grand prize, but his compatriot Kevin Staut will not make it easy. He is the European champion and occupies number five in the international ranking.
The Canadian Eric Lamaza (Number 2) and Marcus Ehning, from Germany, situated at number two in the FEI ranking and the current World Cup champion will also be at the City of Arts and Sciences.
Other well known riders at the event are: Jessica Kurten from Ireland, the Italian Gianni Govoni, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum from Germany or the Australian Edwina Alexander (number 7) will return to Valencia to compete for the grand prize.
