Once again, Spanish flavor at the podium during the CSI 2* competitions that were held this morning in the City of the Arts and Sciences, second venue of the Global Champions Tour.
Extremely hard-fought class the one from Revista Ecuestre, but in the end, young Gonzalo Añón ended triumphant with his partner Andor in 45.42 seconds.
Brother to CSI 5* rider Manuel Añón, who is also competing this weekend, Gonzalo was finally the podium leader after finishing second and third at the Valencia Capital Europea del Deporte Trophy and the RTVV Trophy, respectively.
José Bono riding Navaros managed second place in 47.22 seconds, followed by Carlota Vilarrubí and mare Meggy Du Mont that closed in a time of 48.51 seconds.
Special mention deserves Valencian rider Charo Ortells, who at the Mercedes-Benz Trophy placed second riding Ideal de Prissay in 33.04 seconds, barely catching up with the winner, Lauley Squibb and fabulous mare Lara Joy II, who closed in 32.29 seconds. Completing the podium were British Claire Beecroft with her horse Melton.
