JESSICA KÜRTEN EMERGES TRIUMPHANT ONCE AGAIN IN CN

The Irish rider won the NH Hotels Trophy after a very tight jump off and after completing a clear round in just 34.57 seconds. Vincent Voorn, Eugenio Grimaldi and Ismael García Roque the other winners of the day.
The last competition of the night was a hard fought 5 star NH Hotels Trophy , a jump off against the clock. Out of the 33 duos participating only six were able to make it to the jump off after a clear round.
Already at the jump off, Gerco Schrörder from Holland and his mount, a six year-old Eurocommerce London completed a clear round in an spectacular 34.73 seconds. It seemed as if no one was going to be able to beat his chronometer until Kürten arrived.
The rider and her mount Castle Forbes Myrtille Paulois competed in the last place and managed to complete the course without fault in an amazing 34.57 seconds, just a few fractions of a second below the Dutch Gergo Schrörder.
The competition was a specially hard fought one, proof of it are the 34.99 seconds achieved by the Swiss rider Puis Schwizer and Verdi III who finished third.
The fourth position went to Vincent Voorn from Holland, who with Audi´s Gestion Priamus Z managed to jump all the obstacles in just 35.95 seconds. The fith place went to the very young French rider Caroline Nicolas riding Nobylis, achieving a clear round in 42.94 seconds.
After finishing her round Jessica Kürten declared that she felt very much at home in Casas Novas.This is not the first time that this prestigious Irish rider competes in Casas Novas, and most memorable was the summer of 2007 when she won the Council of A Coruña Grand Prix.
THE DUTCH DO NOT DISAPPOINT IN THE A CORUÑA CSI
A good performance was expected from the Dutch team in this edition of the A Coruña CSI and they have not up to now disappointed. The third competition of this International Jumping Show went to Dutch rider Vincent Voorn, who riding Audi´s Reflection completed a Table A clear course without jump off in 55.07 seconds.
He was not the only Dutch to reach the top places of the classification. His fellow countryman Leopol Van Asten with Vdl Groep Issis Du Marais managed to finish without faults in 55.41 seconds, just fractions of a second behind Voorn.
It was another Dutchman, Wout Van Der Schans with Eurocommerce Sacramento who landed in sixth position.
Holland has never disappointed in Casas Novas. Along with Spain, and with eight athletes competing, Holland is the country with most riders taking part in the highest category in this edition of the A Coruña CSI.
Apart from the representatives of this Equestrian Mechanical Orange,there were other great riders with different nationalities occupying the first places of the Azkar Trophy.
Brazil´s Alvaro de Miranda and his horse, the stallion Ad Norsson came third after jumping all the Obstacles in 55.64 seconds. The fourth place went to the duo formed by Jessica Kürten and Vdl Harley, who together finished the course in 56.38 seconds. The horsewoman repeated podium riding another mare, Castle Fores Cosma. Together they achieved a fith place after completing a round in 57.02 seconds
VOORN, “WILL GIVE MY BEST TOMORROW”
After the Azkar Trophy had finished, the winner, Vincent Voorn, declared feeling “very pleased” after having won a “maximum level prize like this one”. “We are talking about a five star competition which you have to compete with many of the best riders in the world”, he said.
Voorn also wanted to stand out the level of A Coruña CSI. “This is a competition to which everyone wants to be invited. I didn´t find out I was going to come until last week, as soon as I did I decided to rest my horses so they would be in the best possible form” .
Tomorrow, Saturday, Voorn hopes to rise victourious in the Telefónica Grand Prize, the most important competition in this CSI will start at 6 pm.
This 26 year-old Dutchman, started to ride at the age of 14. He has an enviable record. In 2005 he became individual European Champion for young riders. In 2007 he was European Champion in teams and in 2008, he was fith in teams at the Olympic Games in Beijing.
INAUGURAL TROPHY AND THE MÓSTOLES INDUSTRIAL TROPHY
The tenth edition of the CSI A Coruña launched this Friday with the Inaugural Trophy and the Móstoles Industrial going to the Italian and Spanish riders. Eugenio Grimaldi and Ismael García Roque the other wins.
